"Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord?"
~ Genesis 18:14 ~
"Jesus glanced around at them and said, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God."
~ Mark 10:27 ~
As I was working out on the elliptical machine at the gym last night, I was awestruck as I watched, 'American Idol' and listened to Adam Lambert sing the song with the words, 'No Boundaries'.
Listening to the song made me come to the realization that the world consists of boundaries--boundaries everywhere! Yet God has no boundaries! No wonder it is so hard to grasp such vastness and possibilities that are still unknown when it comes to the Eternal, Amazing, Almighty God.
The boundaries that contain us, we in turn 'try' to contain God.
We are conceived within the womb; a boundary. Infants sleeping in a crib, framed with boundaries. We live within walls that are divided by other walls and doors. We have social boundaries, standing so many inches apart as we communicate with others. Invisible lines everywhere, yet many of us know where they are drawn and we live by them.
Knowing this allows me to see how it spills over onto many of us who place boundaries on ourselves with what we 'think' we can or cannot do. Because we cannot imagine doing certain things that God has placed within us, we have unknowingly told ourselves it is impossible.
I notice that within the boundaries there is safety. Safety is significantly important, however when it comes to living in false safety it is called, complacency. Complacency kills dreams, kills motivation and drive and most of all it has you sing the song that Doris Day sang, "Que Sera, Sera, the future's not ours to see, Que Sera, Sera, what will be, will be..." Complacency allows boundaries to become mountains so high that it seems it can never be climbed.
We are meant to cross many boundaries, however we look at crossing the boundaries as only a defiant act of disobedience. However, crossing the boundaries can also be an awesome act of obedience unto God. For instance, When man says, "There is no way; that is impossible." God says, "There is a way, for I have made a way."
We sign, seal and deliver it as impossible and we walk away.
The first thing that comes to my mind? 'Act of worship unto God.' You might be asking, "What?" Yes, I said it, "Act of worship unto God." With the impossible things that we know we are called to walk in and through, I need to get to that point in my life where I have faith in God that all things are possible that are of Him. Especially when it comes to accomplishing things that I don't even know where to begin, yet I know I must begin, the God who is not held by boundaries will make a way when there seems to be no way.
What is the reminder in this? He made Jesus Christ, THE WAY, when there was no other way to wash away our sin. The God of the impossible, made the way to Him, thank you Lord for the privilege to love You and serve You! Help me to see it as a privilege moment by moment.
As I live in a world that consists of 'boundaries' I want to be totally dependent on You God that has NO BOUNDARIES, for even the heavens cannot contain Your amazing, unexplainable glory!
