Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
Written By: Teresa Criswell

Isaiah 61

The many in need, the impoverished, to the ones who had everything and now have nothing.
The many who wail with great sorrow as they experience the pain of their unimaginable grief.
The ones who have lost a loved one; a husband, a wife, a mother, a father, grandparent, an uncle or aunt, a child, a friend.
Some have lost their whole family in one moment; like a puff of smoke, a blade of grass being cut down.
There are those who are sick in their minds; stuck in a prison of despair and unending torment.

As I think upon these people, I am reminded this beautiful Saturday of how God sent His only Son Jesus. Jesus came to first do the Will of His Father which was to preach good tidings to the meek; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound, to comfort all that mourn, and to give those that mourn beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

I realize with great wonder that all these actions that Jesus walked in had and has great, powerful purpose. What is the purpose? A glimpse of God's purpose is that He will be glorified as those who receive His transforming deliverance, would be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord. The end result? Glorifying our Holy God!

Lord, I must stop asking "What Would Jesus Do?" And start doing what He has already victoriously acomplished. The Spirit of You Lord is within me as I have called upon the Name of the Lord that I be saved. I am to extend Your comfort by Your Spirit on the broken and the ones who suffer great anguish as they mourn.

Lord, I am so caught up in 'my world' that I forget about 'the world' that You died for. Lord, I am here typing away, knowing what I must do. Help me to proclaim that which I have received so abundantly from You. Your great comfort in the midst of discomfort.

I am reminded yet again that You Jesus, preached, proclaimed, delivered and comforted. You desire and have mandated us to preach, proclaim, deliver and comfort, not by our own strength or might, but by Your Spirit. We have freely received, so then, we must freely give! Lord, thank You for this beautiful reminder!
