'Twas The Morning of Christmas

Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
Written by: Teresa Criswell

Merry Christmas! As you read this poem I wrote this evening, it is from the likely perspective of our 12 year old daughter.  She is excited to awake in the morning as it will be our 6th year of doing a scavenger hunt with her gifts.

Twas The Morning of Christmas
By: Teresa Criswell

‘Twas the morning of Christmas
When all through the house
The dishwasher was running
And the laundry spun about.

The hunt was being planned
As the scavenger was me;
The clues were being written
So they could be placed so carefully.

Mom turned on the coffee
As daddy awoke
To the aroma of French vanilla
As I heard the spoon clang about.

Daddy sipped on his coffee
As mom cheerfully said,
“Tristin it’s time to go gift hunting”
And I shot out of bed.

I can’t believe it is Christmas
As I waited so long
But now that it’s here
I don’t want this day to be gone.

As we open our presents
And cheer with glee
May we remember why we celebrate
For Jesus Set us FREE!

Jesus is the Truth and The Word Made Flesh;
He was the promise fulfilled
The expression of God's love
He came in the form of baby as he'd later hang on a cross..

That Tree was a cross
And the cross was a bridge
A bridge to My Heavenly Father
So that we could be forever connected.
