The Greatest Reward?

Triumphant Victorious Reminder

Early this morning, my Bible app lit up the dark room as I listened to the audio from Luke 10. While listening, a sudden gentle whisper divinely interrupted with this question, "At the end of your life on this earth, if you realized there was no reward for all the good you did for others - would you still do good?"

With this question, there was a quietness of spirit when I suddenly saw what seemed like a movie scene play out in front of me...it was the image of a woman clothed in humility, quietly speaking to the Lord while on her knees. Her head bent low as tears streamed, whispering with a raspy voice, "Lord, You are the greatest reward."

I was in awe of her knowing of God's love. Realizing that question only revealed her heart of gratitude to her Jesus.  There was no question that she didn't do good to soothe her ego or conscious; but it was from a place of holy gratitude. Her good works were done from a place of worshipful awe of Him. She wasn't trying to do anything to get "Heavenly points" - all she wanted was to live life out of response to Jesus, no matter what others did or didn't do, and no matter the cost.

There was a revealing that this is how to live this life...knowing that we have already received the greatest reward and that is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, our Jesus. Thank you, Lord.

Today's Triumphant Victorious Reminder is who our God is; He is the most beautiful reminder to living life in Him, not for a rewarding return; but knowing the greatest reward is returning our gratitude to the One Who is the Greatest Reward...our Father God revealed by Jesus, The Son of the Living God who is revealed by the greatest Promise; Holy Spirit.

Remember this today, this is what following Jesus looks like. For everything He did was never out of a response to people; it was out of His response for His love for His Father and in turn, the people benefited. His actions were not for us first; it was all out of love for His Father and yet again, from His actions, we all benefited.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God, must believe that He is and that He rewards those who seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6 ESV

For seeking Him is the GREATEST REWARD.
