Desires of your heart?

Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Written by: Teresa Ann, Host of Let's Talk Studio

When you hear the question, "What are the desires of your heart?" What say you?

I admit that most of the time my desires have not been of eternal value. They were of monetary rhetoric; the kind which moth eat and rust destroys as recorded in the gospel of Matthew (Matthew 6:19-24).

This whole blog entry began this morning due to a simple word search for REJOICE that set me on course to a DIVINE "rabbit trail". It was an adventurous path that simply wooed me to hunger for more of a desire to fellowship with GOD. The internet search led to me none other than a write up from the early 1900's from the church to it's congregants. It was a "newsletter" of sorts from May, 1921, titled, "The Latter Rain Evangel" and it was subtitled, "The Days of Heaven On The Earth".

This newsletter written so long ago was speaking even past the far reaching of what we would call, "now". I was in awe of the order of writings and how every point was as an arrow that pointed the church back to the Father God by looking to Jesus as they allowed the Holy Spirit to baptize them with fire and passion for GOD and the lost.

As I read this newsletter from long ago on a particular Chinese man, who happened to be a high ranking general, I was in awe of the report from the missionary to China. This particular general had been converted because of him witnessing a particular woman who said "Slay me but spare them." She died and yet her death caused resurrection life in so many from that moment on. It became the ripple effect of many high ranking military men within China to pursue the heart of GOD like no one had ever seen. To the point when their enemies surrendered, one of the generals gave each surrendered soldier money to go back home as their lives were spared with the Gospel being preached, so these soldiers who had surrendered would know the love of GOD with tangible evidence. Even as I read this newsletter, it was as though I became a witness of these Chinese military men who were converted by the love of GOD shown through a few missionaries. They began to even see their time of war as a mission field in the midst of the battlefield.

It led me to greater awe of all these months that GOD has had me parked in Luke 6:27-38; Matthew 5:44-48; Proverbs 25:21-22; Romans 12:9-21, it was outrageously inspiring, to see their lives demonstrate the goodness of GOD that leads man to repentance. They were revealing the Kingdom of GOD within the earth by loving their enemies.

With all that said, when the missionary was with many of the men within the Chinese military, they had a prayer meeting and before prayer they were all studying Matthew chapters 18-20. After reading, the missionary began to ask these powerful men, "What are your deepest desires of your hearts? Please state them before we go into prayer."

Their answers awakened me to the core:

One general answered, "My greatest wish before GOD is that all 9,000 of my men may turn to the LORD." Then a colonel answered, "Mine is that we may have grace given us to live lives so genuine that we will commend this salvation of the Lord Jesus to all men." Another colonel spoke up and said, "That GOD may use our brigade to convert all the soldiers of China." Then the general and the three colonels led in prayer among others.

As I stated in the beginning, now I ask again, "What is your greatest desire?" I have a feeling that like me, your answer may have shifted to one of great eternal value?

Would you like to share your hearts desire? Your life giving feedback is encouraging.

Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Written by: Teresa Ann

That moment you get the shocking report.
Tired, scared and you even feel ill equipped.
Yet all the while, there's a gentle whisper; a still small voice that can be heard above the loud distractions of our little worlds.

One moment everything was seemingly fine; the next moment, as though your life has been changed forever...and then right in the middle of it all; there's a  SUDDENLY COLLISION of the miraculous!  It seems as though GOD pauses time just for you...

Today I want to share an interview that is along these same lines, with Nikki Cody via Let's Talk with Teresa Ann. I've had the honor of knowing Nikki and her family for almost 5 years. It was fun times while her husband Les served on staff at REACH Church here in Austin. It was definitely a sweet time...and yet all the while GOD was calling them out of Austin and into Waco.

SHINE! Instead of us talking about how dark the world is, the world should be talking about how BRIGHT we are so that they may glorify our Father GOD! When we realize WHO GOD IS, we can't help but just do good to's all from abundance not from lack! Overcome evil with good. This is what the Kingdom of GOD is all about.

Wronged. Hurt. Used.

You better do something about it.
Fight! Fight! Fight!
Get distracted!
A life of constant warring.
No peace.
Fighting with idle words that produce no life.

Yet in a moment, a SUDDENLY, this HEAVENLY WIT is revealed with GOD'S supernatural insight. It's that "out of this world" PEACE like no other.
It's not manufactured; it's to a measure of authenticity that I've never known.

It's the kind of wit that makes a JOYFUL spectacle, leaving people in awe as though they just saw a massive, grandiose firework display. Suddenly you realize, this is what the Kingdom of God looks like when it invades the earth!

Let's really think about it, as Jesus walked the earth, HE talked about this so often. When we go through the New Testament with Holy Spirit giving us insight, there's a continual thread of the "Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD"...things said like, "The Kingdom of GOD is like..." We realize it's not necessarily a place, but more so it is about that part of HIM that is placed within us!

I'll show you what I have found in the past few years that come more alive to me more and more...
From Genesis 50:20, "You intended to harm me, but GOD intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people;
Proverbs 25:21-22, "If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink";
Micah 6:8, "The Lord requires of me to live justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly before our GOD";
Matthew 5 & 6, "...God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be HAPPY about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven, and remember the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way. You are the salt of the earth. But what good is it if it has lost it's flavor? You are the light of the world - like a city set on a hill that cannot be the same way, let your good deeds SHINE out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.";
Luke 6:27-38, "...Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you...";
Romans 12:9-21, "...Never pay back evil with more evil...instead, if your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads. Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good..." these are just a few. It's even recorded in Acts 1 that after Jesus died and resurrected, he went about for 40 more days visiting the apostles. But what did HE visit with them about? It's revealed in one line..."He went about talking to them about the Kingdom of GOD."

Think about this...the CULTURE OF GOD'S KINGDOM. It's immovable as HE is. You are light, so SHINE! Instead of us talking about how dark the world is, the world should be talking about how bright we are so many good works are displayed as mighty weaponry! When we realize WHO GOD IS, we can't help but just do good to's all from abundance not from lack!

Light simply shines. So when Jesus said, "You're the light"...then we get to shine, shine, shine! I am realizing more through Kingdom insight that darkness has never been the issue; it's the absence of light that has allowed darkness to spread.

In this, now I realize why Jesus spoke so much about the Kingdom of GOD. He obviously knew it was within us. But some things had to take place for it to be seen through us. When we try to fight for our own way; we are fighting to survive so that we can somehow live...but HE knows that's not's barely surviving. So when He said, "You must die to live." It's about dying to the natural tendencies of our flesh so that we can come alive to the divine nature of GOD to be seen within the earth!

Kingdom of God living is a way of life that begins with a mind renewal. It's new perspective that changes the way see EVERYTHING because GOD HAS OPENED OUR EYES TO SEE HIM in the midst of the hard and difficult.

Are you ready to see it? So let's do this...The Kingdom of GOD does completely the opposite of what logic and what this world and even our flesh defaults to. The world says, "To live, you must fight for your life...but Jesus said the opposite, "to live you must die." Or how about this one? The world says, title and prestige is what makes you successful, although that is great; yet what's even more profound is how GOD uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

Think about this, the KINGDOM OF GOD is the constant wit we saw Jesus walk in amongst the Pharisees and Sadducees whenever they attempted to trip HIM up...and yet to their dismay, HE was and is the CORNERSTONE that they tripped over constantly.

This renewal of the mind happens in the middle of our intimate moments of realizing HOW awesome GOD is. It's this constant dance of drawing near to HIM as HE draws near to us. It gets better and better. In the middle of the attacks, we no longer see the attacks as much as we see HIS FOR US power!

Take notice! The Kingdom mindset sees past being taken advantage of and sees the power of GOD's grace to live in this JOY that you can't even articulate and are able to say by faith, "You can't take from someone who already settled it in their heart with GOD that they gave."

God's Kingdom mindset was displayed at the Cross of Calvary by Jesus! Don't ever be mistaken, no one took HIS life, not Pilate, not the angry mob, not the mocking soldiers; just remember, Jesus got the last word as HE GAVE HIS LIFE! HE SETTLED THAT WITH HIS FATHER AND WAS ABLE TO DECLARE THESE THREE EARTH SHATTERING WORDS, "IT IS FINISHED!"

Think about this, this is so crazy exciting! Do you remember when He said, "If someone slaps your cheek, give them your other cheek to slap"? He sets us up to have the VICTORIOUS last word; the one who hit you doesn't get the last word over your life; you GET TO in Christ! When he said, "If they take your tunic, give your shirt also", get to partner with GOD in having the last word over your life. Not your enemy!

Some of you may be saying, "This sounds more like being a doormat." Actually, doing absolutely nothing would be a doormat. But when you bless those that hurt you, do good to those who hurt you and pray for those who persecute you; you're allowing the Kingdom of GOD to come into the earth; it's above and beyond what any fighting in the flesh could ever turn your life into a "welcome mat" for the KING OF GLORY to enter in and do what only HE could do above and beyond our imaginations that is so far reaching beyond our now moments and goes into the moments that will surpass our living years.

The Kingdom "flips the script" on how we were trained by the world to see life from lack and defeat, and now TRULY seeing from Kingdom's perspective, from GOD's place of PROMISE, WHICH IS VICTORY IN CHRIST.
