"The LORD detests evil plans, but HE delights in pure words."
- Proverbs 15:26 -

THE LORD DETESTS evil plans...BUT HE DELIGHTS IN PURE WORDS. What do pure words have to do with evil plans? If you've been watching LET'S TALK with Teresa Ann or listening via my daughter and I's OH...Podcast, you'll remember that our tongues "tell on" our mindset (Proverbs 18:21). So if our mindset is set on the things of the earth; our conversations reveal that. It is no wonder Romans 12 states that we must renew our minds...not just with positive thoughts or "vibes" but with The Word of GOD which brings life giving, transforming speech from the place of ABUNDANT LIFE, WHO IS THE PERSON, JESUS!

When we get into the Word of GOD by the power of the Holy Spirit then the mind FINALLY gets to follow the Spirit. When we receive JESUS, The Holy Spirit within us knows TRUTH but it's our minds that must now line up with HIM.

When we know the truth of GOD, it's not from the intellect, instead it is by the WORD OF GOD. So with that, our tongues can by default speak life and that life giving power of the tongue is evidence of the fruit of life...and when our tongues speak unknowing death or negativity, it's evidence of that mindset as well.

So here's the GREAT NEWS:
When we catch ourselves speaking death or negatively about self, others or even a situation; remember that the beauty is in the "awareness' that we actually caught it.  We can rejoice that we are now aware of our mindset as we get to simply SHIFT it with THE MIND OF CHRIST; THE WAY HE THINKS, according to the Word of GOD.

All in all, when we catch ourselves planning our own ways or creating an agenda that is not according to GOD, then we GET TO rejoice that Holy Spirit alerted us to "see" it and it's our moment to turn to HIM and say, "Lord! Thank YOU that YOU rescued me from the old way of thinking and are reminding me to "set" my "mind" on YOU, hence living with YOUR "mindset"...the pressing moments are a reminder of WHO I get to press into and that is YOU LORD...so we can see everything with life giving perspective and we are able to give HOPE to others in the midst of hopelessness!

  1. I don’t know if you get notification of or read comments here. But I just want to tell you how, through another page highlighting you, your mom and sisters, I came upon this link to your blog. This post could not have been more timely. In fact, I think the Lord used you to speak to me!
My husband and I just today were talking about and trying to sort through some things that have really gotten us feeling down and defeated. We talked of how to move forward, thinking positive and trusting the Lord, and how that will help us accomplish our goal of buying our own home so we can feel like we belong somewhere, and have joy together in tending all the fun things that owning a house allows you to do.
It was not but an hour or so later after we ended that conversation, that I truly believe I was led to this blog and your post! I couldn’t believe what I was reading. The Lord used your words to speak to me himself, reassuring and reminding us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. That we need to renew our minds with His Words, His Hope and His promises. And that we need to rest in Him with all our worries, hoped and dreams for our future. He died to give us life, in abundance, until it overflows!
I just wanted to tell you my story, and THANK YOU for putting your thoughts into the words that created this post. I truly know these words are those from the Lord to give us comfort, hope and peace as we move forward into our future!
