Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
Written By: Teresa Criswell

"I beseech
(plead with) you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
~ Romans 12:1-2 NKJV added words italicized ~

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man (every temptation is common to man); but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
~ I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV added words italicized ~

As I staged a house today, the creativity was flowing. I came home and made more 'Triumphant Victorious Decor' inspirational boards and canvases for a few of my clients.

Before I painted one of the canvases, I took a 'before' picture. When I was finished I also took an 'after'. When taking the after photo I was quickly reminded of how God transforms our lives by the saving power of Jesus Christ; when we allow Him to change us and transform us by the renewing of our minds through the Word of God.

I took notice again of the verse today, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." So if we are not to be conformed to this world, Paul urges the reader by the power of the Holy Spirit to be transformed. How do we become transformed? He says, by the renewing of your mind. What does the renewal of the mind through Jesus Christ provide? To prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

It is amazing how I looked back upon my life without the Lord a few years ago. Looking back at me from then and now is refreshingly different. The only way I can describe it...I feel as though I am unattached to the woman before. It is as though I look back at someone else, feeling such pity, wanting to pray for her.

I also was reminded today that my first journal I ever wrote in towards the Lord in 2003, was the scripture for today. My dad being led by the Holy Spirit gave that verse to me as he encouraged me to walk in obedience to and with the Lord. He gave me many other scriptures, however, another scripture he gave me was I Corinthians 10:13. I am beyond amazed of how God's Word is so beautifully intertwined.

Wow! I praise God for His awesome transforming power as my mind is becoming renewed by His Word. I am reminded to rely on His great Power to not be conformed to this world. There is continual change that must be made; but it is nice to look back and see the triumphant victory in Christ Jesus.

His transforming power is made available to us and is already in us when we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. His grace was not given to us to give us permission to sin. His grace was given to us so that we could rise above the sin; not in and of ourselves, but only through Him!

  1. I wish I had a "before" and "after" picture of my life with Christ! Hopefully there are copies up in heaven. :) I do know that the difference is astonishing, though!!! Praise the Lord!
