The following post was written by Aimee. She is a very precious woman that is part of the life group I facilitate. She wrote to me this beautiful prayer revealing scripture and a brief testimony of what she has seen come forth when it all seemed dead and gone. May this encourage you as it truly encouraged me.

Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the my sister ______ who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For she shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Teresa, one of my pride and joys is my garden! But during these past two years it has been neglected due to lack of money, sickness, severe anxiety from the brokenness of my marriage, pregnancy and of course this summer's drought. It is overgrown w/ weeds, and many of my flowers, herbs, and plants have died completely. They are gone. Usually I have limes, strawberries, and grapes that I love to watch the neighborhood kids pick and eat w/ joy. Of course this year, none yielded any fruit. During the drought this summer, I did not even water my "garden" at all! But near the end, when even the strongest of plants struggled to survive, something started happening to my grapevine.

Strangely new growth was springing forth behind large crinkled dead grape leaves. Branches were springing forth and FRUIT began to grow when everything else laid withered to their roots! Even the timing of this fruit was odd. Immediately God reminded me of this passage and of His promises!! I will continue to pray God will truly provide for her according to His riches and glory!!
