Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit

"Therefore humble yourselves under the nighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you. Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieities, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Be well balanced, be vigilant and cautious at all times: for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour."
~ I Peter 5:6-8 ~
As discussed in our bible study yesterday regarding pride and humbleness, Pastor Kim helped me to understand some basic truths.
As stated in I Peter 5:6-8 there is what she would call a 'Three Step Process' as we humble ourselves before the Lord.
First, we must humble ourselves, knowing that God in due time will exalt us for His glory. Then, after we humble ourselves, we are truly able to cast our burdens on Him because we know He cares for us. After we cast those burdens, anxieties, worries and concerns; we are then able to be watchful and cautious of the enemies tactics as he is seeking whom he may devour.
Another way to look at it:
If we don't humble ourselves, then we will not cast our burdens, anxieties, worries, concerns on Him, because we 'think' we have a better way. And being that we 'think' we have a 'better' way is when we will be devoured by the enemy, because we were not vigilantly watchful, at ALL times.
So if we are called to be well balanced, sober of mind, being vigilant and cautious at ALL times; that means there is a moment by moment reckoning to remain in humbleness unto the Lord.
As we humble ourselves before God through Jesus, we are able to cast those concerns onto Him, and see the enemy and his tactics coming before he is able to 'pounce' on us.
Tomorrow as the Holy Spirit leads we will resume this devotional. It has helped me tremendously this busy morning. Heeeheeeheeee!
