Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
By: Teresa Criswell

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound."
~ Isaiah 61:3 ~

Have you ever had an issue with someone that wronged you and it seemed like every scripture you read, pointed to that person? I laugh as I ask that question.

I have found that the character of God many times has revealed that when we go before Him and we have our intimate time of communion with him through His Word, He highlights areas in our own lives that need to be changed. I have found that this is how God works with me at least.

I'll give you an example, there was a girl that I worked with a couple of years ago that had a GIGANTIC CHIP on her shoulder. She possessed this miserable, negative, life-sucking attitude about mostly everything in life, towards me especially. UGH...just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. I would not choose to be around someone like that EVER...but being that I worked with her, I noticed when I would get home icky, icky stuff would OOZE out of me. And I would pray so hard that God would remove her from my work environment, to make my life easier...LOL! Guess what? He didn't remove her from my life.

However, what He lovingly did was reveal in me areas of my life where I truly needed to grow His compassion towards people like her. O MAN was it the hardest lesson..I kept going around the "mountain" over and over and over again....everything I read in the Bible was pointing conviction towards HER...and how SHE needed JESUS...but you know what? I realized the scripture was pointing right to ME, and how I was the one who truly needed the power of the Holy Spirit revealing Jesus in my life toward HER. Does that make sense?

Once, I passed that test...she was dismissed from the employer as it was revealed that she was not working out. I'm not kidding! It was a lesson from Luke 6, "bless those that hurt you, bless those that persecute you and spitefully use you"...it seems that every time I finally released someone by saying, "GOD BLESS HIM or HER or THEM" He is faithful to HIS Word...God is not limited...it is us who limit ourselves from seeing God reveal His promises for what they were to set out to do. The result of blessing those people is from Isaiah 61...Jesus fulfilled this when He came (500 years after Isaiah prophesied this):

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are BOUND"

Now Jesus fulfilled that...and guess what? Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to reveal what He had done so that we could do it for others!!!!

I know it is soooooooooo hard, and it seems that it would be a lot easier to smack people upside the head...but the end result is more anger..LOL!

I pray I reveal God's compassion, love and reveal His truth with boldness today!
