November 14 & 15, 2009, "Random 'Thoughts and Jots' of a Nine Year Old"

As we walked into our home after our daughter's day of school; we went about our normal after school routine. She emptied her school bag with homework that had been graded and some other assignments that she had written and laminated.

One of the interesting things I came across was a laminated eight and a half by eleven inch piece of paper. As I started to read the words on the page, I could have melted in the sweet surrender of her innocence towards Almighty God and the dreams within her heart.

The random 'thoughts and jots' of a nine year old...

"I am smart and a peace lover.
I wonder if I will ever go to Paris.
I hear a French man say (In a french accent),
"Three dollar for a croissant."
I see the Eiffel Tower.
I want to be a mystery person when I grow up.
I am a lover of history.
I pretend that I live in New York in an apartment.
I feel fun because I love the 80's.
I touch a pretend house.
I worry if something will happen in the future.
I cry when a family member dies.
I am sleepy in the morning.
I understand history.
I say I believe that My God is the answer.
I dream what it will look like when I see God.
I try to be better in math.
I am the lover of my God and hope that one day
every one will believe in God and
I hope that you will know God too.
Amen. Thank you."

December 15, 2010, "Connecting Bridge"

I was planning on going to this particular store which I enjoy frequenting. However, this day I was convicted to commit even this 'to do' moment to Him. I prayed to the Lord to guide my steps and as I was driving I was led to go to a different store which I do not like to frequent because of the great lack in customer service. But as I looked back upon that irritation, for me to complain about not having a good customer service experience is truly not suffering. Perspective was put back into its proper place...I was reminded to have options to go anywhere while others experience true suffering was insulting to those who truly suffer; especially for the cause of Christ Jesus.
