The Measured Woman: A Gospel Study

How have you been tempted to measure yourself? What metric system do we as women measure ourselves? How do we measure other women? Do we measure them by their job title or career? Is it the metric system of the world? Is it the metric system of success? Or is it according to the metric system of our Holy God according to His Immeasurable Word?

The woman of shame who had sinned greatly; humbled herself before the beautiful feet of Jesus. Her value was no longer contingent upon the sin she had committed or those who considered her an outcast; rejected by society. Her life was an action revealing the transforming power of her Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

In the new edition of Sanctified Together, a small study that I was led to write is based on this woman who was so greatly touched and transformed by the love of Jesus, revealing the love of our Father God. The title is, "The Measured Woman; A Gospel Study". I pray you are greatly encouraged by the measure in which this woman finally realized her value. I also pray as she realized her value, that you too will realize your value because of Who our God is!

May we as woman lavishly display our immeasurable gratitude unto our Amazing, Immeasurable, Awesome, Holy God by revealing Who He is onto others! May we be reminded that criticism is not the motivator to repentance; it is the Goodness of God!

  4. Loved the study! It is interesting how God steamlines everything the Holy Spirit is teaching me with what He is teaching others.

I see waves of His holy movement running through all His children!

  5. Thanks for the visit. I enjoyed your study. Loved that you pointed out that she didn't care what anyone thought but Jesus. I often have to be reminded that it's what He thinks that matters.

  6. Awesome Teresa! We have to be constantly reminded that our true value comes from Him and Him alone! There's so much in the world vying for our focus and passions in what we compare ourselves to but as we follow the voice and leading of the Spirit of Christ, He will show us the TRUTH of who we really are!

  7. Hi Teresa:

Thank you for your visit. Our pastor spoke about Mary this past week (we are currently in a sermon series on the Gospel of John). As you pointed out, she didn't care what others thought. She just wanted to pour out herself at the feet of Jesus. Oh the things we can learn from this short passage of scripture on Mary.

    Blessings,
    Joan

  8. You put it so perfectly - I've never saw the angle though I'm sure I've heard the words: "The transforming Power." - So true - that is when we see the absolute power of the Trinity. I always focus on God saving - that moment of salvation and then life goes on being saved. But "The Transforming Power" - that is really what Salvation is all about - all about after that moment of salvation where we transform, like a hidden bud on a tree to the beautiful blossom like on your header!
