Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
Written by: Teresa Criswell

"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim: each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke."
~ Isaiah 6:1-3 ~

The emphasis of God's Holiness is purely Holy. The Spirit of Holy God, is even referred to as Holy...hence Holy Spirit!

The written Word in the Prophet Isaiah's book in chapter six; has the the word Holy written out three times to show the great emphasis of what was being witnessed and heard by Isaiah (refer to 'Drawing Near', by John Bevere)! The emphasis of Who He is was the attempt to reach to the hearer and to the reader of the great power of the Seraphim who proclaimed to each other who God is!!!! It was proclaimed with such power that the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of the Seraphim(more than one Seraph angel) who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke! The house this speaks of is none other than heaven! Can you imagine? Heaven, unable to hold firm the powerful declaration of Holy God? Imagine if you can for a moment, The Glory of God is so powerful, brighter than who knows how many suns...God which has no darkness, so much so that there are NO shadows to be seen in His Holy, glorious presence!

This is beyond mind blowing. When I realize a glimpse of God's Holiness; it is more than just a song we sing, "Holy, Holy, Holy..." The Holiness declared from the mighty Seraph angels are proclaimed with such power. Their proclomation is so boldly proclaimed that it utterly shakes the door posts of heaven! Now get this...we aren't talking door frames like in our homes...we're talkin' door posts. I attempt to believe that the door post that Isaiah refers to is that of a post that is as far below the ground as it is above! Think about that...the posts aren't going anywhere...yet, when it comes to declaring the Holiness of God...even the mighty doorposts are shaken...leaving the 'house' filled with smoke!!!!!

Can you imagine such Holiness? Realizing such powerful Holiness leads me to a fearing awe that draws me closer to Him! The glimpse of Holy God can only lead you to your knees. This amazing Holiness can only lead every circumstance trying to come against you to the ground, obliterating and annihilating EVERY care and burden into nothingness in comparison to God's Holiness!

I am in this state of an awestruck daze as I truly try to imagine such Holy Power! The most famous God! The King of kings! The name, King of kings leads me to a reminder. Several years ago when we lived in Michigan, we went to Toledo, Ohio together, which is less than an hour and a half from where we lived. As we were driving we noticed the name of a fellowship that gathered together and on their sign read, "King of kings". My husband looked at the sign and out of his mouth flowed this amazing revelation, "Teresa, God is the King of kings for He needs no advisors!" That moment was so powerful to catch a glimpse of Holy God that I still remember that moment as though it was literally right now!

To be in awe of Holy God, reminders come to me:
God doesn't need our assistance!
God doesn't need our advice!
God doesn't need to go to the most amazing ruler there ever was to receive advice! God is The King of all kings! The Advisor of all advisors! The Holy of holies!
God is waiting for us to echo what the heavens are declaring...His Awesome Holiness!

This is a huge, uncomfortable, 'temper tantrum' stretch for me and my flesh. There is much I must put down as He commands for us who say we are His to be holy as He is Holy (I Peter 1)! As my dad says, "We not only talk it, but we must live it."

Comments

  1. I cannot fathom His holiness. I'm amazed when I think of times being prayed for with such power I could not even stand up. Yesterday, my daughter told me waves of God's presence flowed over her section at church and everybody was crying! We only know a touch of it on this earth. Someday we will understand!
