Triumphant Victorious Reminders
Inspired by the Holy Spirit
Written by: Teresa Criswell

Matthew 6:1-18

Lord, I am grateful for Matthew, the former tax collector who recorded in writing a glimpse of Your powerful Truth which poured forth from Your mouth into the earth, upon the ears of the desperate listeners. I am humbled by the prayer that You taught us to simply pray.

You warned the listeners from that time and even now, placing great significance on entering the secret place or closet of prayer. Not just entering the closet of prayer but then after entering that place to shut the door and then pray to the Father which is in secret; and You Father which sees in secret shall reward us openly. You even went as far as saying, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. You said, "Be not like them" for You Lord knows what we are in need of before we even ask You. You then stated furthermore, pray this prayer:

"Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be or reverently respecting and fearing Your name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,. forever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13).

After You showed the people what to pray, you mentioned the importance of forgiveness. You said, "Forgive men their trespasses, so that your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15).

Lord, thank You for the reminder to not complicate that which You have gifted us, the secret place of prayer with and to You.

By faith I must trust You.
By faith I must believe You.
By faith I must know You.
By faith I must experience You, and
By faith I must reveal and proclaim who You are with both my words and life!

The reward that you openly shed upon me, I pray is Your glorious presence that is uncontained by heaven, must overflow upon the earth through each of us who say we are Yours.
